Paddy O' Furniture

Paddy O’ Furniture, an Arizona-based outdoor furniture company that has been in the Valley for more than 30 years, is excited to announce that it donated $53,000 worth of furniture pieces to New Life Center (NLC) on October 27 in honor of domestic violence awareness month. NLC is the largest domestic violence shelter in Maricopa County and one of the largest in the country serving more than 1,000 children and adults annually through an emergency shelter and outreach support program.

A total of 54 furniture pieces were donated during the company’s visit to NLC’s meditation garden and outdoor dining area. In the garden, there are new chaise lounges, rocking chairs and padded sling chairs from the new Patriot Collection, made from recycled milk and laundry detergent jugs and other plastics, along with some end and coffee tables. In the dining area, Paddy O’ replaced the existing picnic tables with Travertine stone dining tables and Patriot Collection dining chairs. Five bistro-style table and chair sets were also donated.

“NLC is doing incredible work in the community, and we’re so excited to be a small part of that,” said Paddy O’ president Zach McMillen. “We wanted to create spaces at the shelter where residents can relax and enjoy moments of peace comfortably in furniture that will last for years.”

Paddy O’ also hosted a food donation drive at all seven Valley locations as well as sponsored a lunch for residents on November 4, catered by Macayo’s Mexican Food. A total of XX nonperishable items were collected.

“Keeping up with maintenance for a 104-bed facility is always a challenging task for us,” said Myriah Mhoon, NLC CEO. “This amazingly generous donation from Paddy O’ has transformed our outdoor spaces and we are so grateful for their support in helping to keep survivors of intimate partner violence safe and happy at our shelter.”

This donation is the first in the company’s pledge to help Arizona nonprofits with both monetary and in-kind gifts over the coming years.
